Joanna Brown Jo trained as an artist at Curtin University, then as a teacher before completing a masters in Art Therapy. As her path has meandered through the various guises of artist, teacher and therapist, she eventually came up for air in her Textile/Fashion business ‘Hustle’ (shop located on High St, Fremantle) where she has her own label ‘Laeline’. Her textile work is recognized for its distinct iconography, and is sold and known Australia wide. Love of pattern, symbol, and unseen energies, Jo’s work reminds many people of many things. Her paintings and designs have been adapted and used in many different art forms including costuming, the stage and commercial applications.
